24 Years of Growth, Success, Expansion and Profitability

CCA GLOBAL PARTNERS BEGAN AS A HANDFUL OF INDEPENDENTLY OWNED SPECIALTY CARPET RETAILERS, AND EXPANDED THROUGH THE SHARED VISION OF TWO LEADERS IN THE FLOOR-COVERING INDUSTRY: HOWARD BRODSKY AND ALAN GREENBERG.

As we look to the future with excitement and optimism, we remain proud of our history, and our evolution as a management and marketing company now involved in four industries: flooring, mortgage banking, lighting products, and biking.

2009

  • Howard Brodsky and Alan Greenberg inducted into the Cooperative Hall of Fame.
  • CCA Global Partners acquires MainStreet Business Services.
  • Carpet One Floor & Home announces the relaunch of 180-year-old Bigelow™ Carpet Collection

2008

  • BizUnite launches its Independent Business Platform, a tool that helps independent businesses compete with their larger competitors.
  • CCA Global Partners® announces Rick Bennet as new Co-CEO.

2007

  • CCA Global Partners announces with great sadness that Alan Greenberg, Co-founder, Co-Chairman, and Co-CEO of CCA Global Partners, passed away August 28, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer.
  • CCA Global Partners and FCIF rename the annual Golf Tournament in honor of Alan Greenberg.
  • CCA Global Partners makes a pledge to be an environmentally conscious company with the launch of the “Green Select” initiative, committing to better the environment through their relationships with their member community, suppliers and employees.

2006

  • CCA Global Partners holds its first-ever Global Summit with business owners and executives from all of its 14 divisions.
  • CCA Global Partners Online Universities are the first and only venue to offer WFCA certification courses in an e-format.

2005

  • CCA Global Partners is listed as the number one Floor Covering Retailer, above Home Depot and Lowe’s on HFN magazine’s list of the Top 150 Specialty Retailers.
  • CCA Global Partners creates the CCA Relief Fund. Its mission is to provide assistance to employees of CCA members and franchisees victimized by natural disasters.
  • Flooring America® joins forces with the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women movement.

2004

  • Howard Brodsky and Alan Greenberg are named two of the home furnishing industry’s “Power 100” by HFN magazine.
  • CCA Global Partners obtains exclusive rights to Anderson Hardwood Floors’ new Biltmore Estate for Your Home Collection.
  • Carpet One Floor & Home® launches Carpet One Welcomes Your Support to raise funds for breast cancer research and awareness.

2003

  • CCA Global Partners expands into the biking industry with a new affiliated company, The Biking SolutionTM.
  • CCA Global Partners starts a charity golf tournament for the Floor Covering Industry Foundation.
  • Carpet One announces Good Housekeeping® branded carpet.

2002

  • An alliance is created between CCA Global Partners and the United Kingdom’s Associated Independent Stores Limited (AIS); the result is Flooring One®.
  • Carpet One announces a working relationship with global fashion company Liz Claiborne® and debuts the Liz Claiborne Home collection.

2001

  • Carpet Co-op of America changes its name to CCA Global Partners.
  • America’s Carpet Gallery operations merge with Flooring America operations.
  • CCA Global Partners acquires certain assets of national lighting company Ilucio and forms Lighting One®.

2000

  • Carpet Co-op of America acquires Rug Décor®, Lenders One®, and a majority interest in FloorExpo®.
  • Carpet Co-op of America purchases certain assets of franchisors Flooring America and Flooring Canada, which are recast as a cooperative.
  • Stone Mountain’s Carpet Mill Outlet acquires the franchise of 93 units of GCO Carpet Outlet.

1996 - 1999

  • In 1996, Carpet One again expands internationally to include licensees in New Zealand.
  • Carpet Co-op of America purchases America’s Carpet Gallery in 1998.
  • In 1999, Carpet One acquires the exclusive license to LEES For Living®.

1995

  • International Design Guild® is established to serve the fashion and interior design market.
  • Carpet One celebrates its 10th anniversary with 525 retail store members, which have aggregate annual sales of $1.5 billion.
  • Carpet One expands internationally with Carpet One Canada.

1994

  • Carpet One acquires the exclusive licensing rights to Bigelow® —one of the industry’s most powerful brands.
  • Stone Mountain’s Carpet Mill Outlet, which serves the consumer seeking value and quality, debuts.
  • Australia’s InCarpets becomes Carpet One’s first non-North American licensee, with 26 stores.

1985 - 1991

  • In 1985, Carpet One is established, with 13 members. By year’s end, retail sales volume for Carpet One’s 26 members reaches $25 million.
  • Carpet One members collectively are the nation’s No. 1 floor-covering retail group.
  • ProSource® Wholesale Floorcoverings is established in 1991.

1984

  • Howard Brodsky and Alan Greenberg establish Carpet Co-op of America.
  • Brodsky and Greenberg become Co-Chairmen and Co-CEOs.
  • Soon afterward, Sandy Mishkin, the current President of CCA Global Partners, joins the cooperative.
