Flooring America and Flooring Canada Merge Fashion and Technology to Create The Ultimate Consumer Experience

Dallas, TX

Flooring America/Flooring Canada, a division of CCA Global Partners the nation’s largest floor covering cooperative, today kicked-off conneXtion™, its bi-annual meeting that connects its more than 500 independent floor covering retailers at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, TX. The national meeting convenes entrepreneurs from across North America to provide actionable steps to drive profitability and help them to improve their businesses.

At this summer’s conneXtion, Flooring America/Flooring Canada executives will highlight how the cooperative is approaching retail with a unique perspective. Keith Spano, President of Flooring America/Flooring Canada explains, “By creating a nice synergy between fashion and technology and differentiating ourselves from the competition, our retailers can deliver a “wow” experience for customers at retail. We want consumers to view their flooring purchase as the biggest fashion statement that they will make in their homes. We will provide our members with the strategies to give this experience to customers.”

Product diversification remains an important objective for the organization as they form strategic partnerships with best-in-class organizations such as iRobot. Flooring America/Flooring Canada encourages members to offer product variety from cabinets and countertops to plumbing fixtures and paint.

Spano adds, It’s imperative to remain relevant at retail, so we encourage product diversification.  Members who have implemented this model have seen growth over the last several years. Becoming a one-stop design center allows members to ultimately capture a larger share from each consumer.”

Striving to be at the forefront of the flooring industry with technology and understanding the shopping habits of today’s consumer, the new site design will provide consumers with a seamless experience across multiple devices including desktop, mobile and tablets.

Frank Chiera, Senior Vice President, Marketing & Advertising at Flooring America/Flooring Canada, explains, “We had five goals to achieve with the new site design—optimize SEO, great content, simple and modern design, consumer usability and responsive across multiple devices. These sites have been designed to address any growing needs that we might have as a company to stay ahead of the curve and continue to drive traffic to our members’ stores.”

The marketing team will discuss the success of the My Floor Story review app and its partnership with Bazaarvoice’s as well as provide an update on the FAST program.  The team will also share with the membership that Flooring America and Flooring Canada’s Net Promoter scores are at 4.8 out of 5, indicating extreme consumer happiness.

Chiera adds, “We are on track to reach our goal of 20,000 reviews by the end of 2015, however, we always want to exceed our goals and believe that we can receive 30,000 reviews by year end.”

Flooring America/Flooring Canada marketing team will provide details on its first-ever Building Buzz event, featuring a powerhouse lineup of leading social media and marketing executives. The 2-day conference being held September 20-22, in Tampa, Florida, that will focus on how to help members and sales professionals navigate the rapid changes in digital marketing and social media. Attendees will leave with actionable tactics that will help retailers drive more business through local digital marketing initiatives.

Also being launched at conneXtion is Flooring America/Flooring Canada new charity campaign—The Installing Happiness Project. The new charity program will allow members to work with the charity of its choice at the local level while continuing to receive support from the cooperative.  “The Installing Happiness Project is a win-win for our members, their communities and the cooperative, says Chiera.”

Spano concludes, “The retail landscape is constantly changing. conneXtion provides our members with the opportunity to learn about all the innovative programs we have created to help give them a competitive edge.”
