Founded forty-five years ago in 1972 in Clear Lake by the Steel family, My Flooring America celebrates major milestone as being a locally-owned flooring retailer for nearly five decades. What started out as “mom and pop” shop has now grown to be one of Texas’ largest independently-owned flooring retail operations with five showrooms in Webster, Sugar Land, Katy, and two locations in the DFW area of Denton and Flower Mound. The Denton and Flower Mound showrooms were added when the Steel and Frederick’s family joined forces back in 2010.

When asked how they’ve been able to sustain their business for all these years and continue to grow despite the competition from “Big Box” retailers, Scott Steel, co-owner My Flooring America comments, “We feel incredibly proud to have been able to sustain our business for forty-five years as an independently owned flooring retailer that has been able to grow and expand our business throughout the years. We’ve remained committed to providing our customers with the best selection of products and a meaningful customer experience because we understand their needs. 

He adds, “this event is a small gesture for us to be able to say Thank You for trusting and recommending us as the go-to flooring retailer for all these years.”

My Flooring America will host a special VIP event on Friday evening, May 5^th at the Sugar Land location from 6pm to 8pm, that includes Meet & Greet events with HGTV’s Design Star Winner and Flooring America design consultant, Jennifer Bertrand, who will be sharing DIY Do’s & Don’ts and conducting one-on-one design consultations. Guests can also enjoy hors d’oeuvres and a wine tasting from local vineyard, HAAK Vineyards & Winery.

On Saturday, May 6^th, My Flooring America in Webster will have an all-day event to honor its customers with a presentation from Jennifer Bertrand and one-on-one design consultations. Guests can also enjoy presentation by the executive chef of Maggiano’s, Wine Tasting from 1p-4p by HAAK Vineyard & winery, food & beverages, door prizes, special pricing on select products and much more. All five of My Flooring America’s locations will be participating in this special event.

Community involvement has always been a core value for My Flooring America as it has supported numerous charities such as Pets for Patriots, a national nonprofit that connects veterans with at-risk rescue animals, local churches, schools, and youth organizations. The company is also a member of the 9 Chambers of Commerce and the local Economic Development organizations.
