Flooring industry shifts go beyond design trends, new technology and color choices. In the last decade as consumer demand for flooring has changed, so has the leadership culture in the industry. With International Women’s Day on March 8, CCA Global Partners (parent company of Carpet One Floor & Home, Flooring America, Flooring Canada, The Floor Trader, International Design Guild and ProSource) celebrates the fact that the company has double the national average of women serving in senior roles across the company’s home offices in Manchester, NH and St. Louis, MO. 

In the traditionally male-dominated flooring field, CCA Global disrupts the norms. It also shatters nationwide corporate numbers. Nationally, 21% of women are in senior roles; at CCA Global 42% of the senior positions are filled by women with 64% of all management positions also helmed by women.

Keith Spano, President of Flooring America/Flooring Canada and The Floor Trader, grew up in the flooring industry and has observed firsthand the gender shift in management across suppliers and membership. “The fabric of our membership is filled with family-owned businesses, and many second and third generation businesses. So many are led by women,” said Spano. “This day of celebration for women gives us a chance to reinforce the fact that everyone has a role to play in creating a more gender balanced workforce.”

Additionally, to help advance and support female leadership culture among its membership at CCA Global, the team has created women’s forums and special programming at the group’s conventions that specifically target the needs of female business owners.
