Cool Closing Event with Kool & The Gang: The 2024 conneXtion features a cool-as-ice closing event with renowned funk, R&B, and soul legends Kool & The Gang. The vibe includes all black and silver attire, an expansive dance floor, food and drink, and the exclusive chance for an in-real-life sing-along to “Celebration” and “Ladies’ Night” with the band that made those songs (and many more) party staples.

“Our agenda was crafted to maximize every opportunity for our members to leverage the powerful new showroom retrofits they are undergoing with Retail 2.0. There is something for everyone at conneXtion and members look forward to connecting with friends and gaining valuable knowledge to help keep them positioned ahead of their competition in a challenging retail landscape,” said Keith Spano, President of Flooring America, Flooring Canada, The Floor Trader, International Design Guild, and NISI. “We will also spend time together diving deep into our proprietary digital marketing tools, hear from industry experts, learn ways our members can diversify and streamline their business, and see exclusive new products. IDG Hosts Summit 2023 United By Design in Las Vegas January 29-31

MANCHESTER, NH (January 30, 2023) – International Design Guild (IDG) leaders and members will gather in Las Vegas today and tomorrow for “United By Design,” its yearly Summit focused on arming members with tools, knowledge, and products to continue to thrive in the current marketplace. Member-led discussions, ample networking opportunities, digital marketing, and business diversification highlight the annual meeting of CCA Global’s luxury showroom collective.

Ahead of Summit 2023, IDG also announced its continued expansion with five new showrooms recently added to the membership collective. The members will be announced at Summit 2023.

“This year’s theme, ‘United By Design,’ is infused throughout our agenda for our annual meeting. Our mission is for members to bring their collective wisdom and shared experiences to each other with a shared goal to improve the businesses and lives of our membership and the strength of our group,” said Keith Spano, President of Flooring America, Flooring Canada, IDG and The Floor Trader. “We’ll accomplish this by incorporating member-led panels and discussions to share best practices about issues that are top-of-mind for membership as they head into 2023, including diversifying business, hiring and staffing concerns, and keeping pace with digital marketing.”

The team at IDG has planned a jam-packed agenda, including keynote speaker Economist Connor Lokar. Connor is the closest thing to a human crystal ball regarding economic insight and forecasting — in his role at ITR Economics, he has a 94.7% forecast accuracy. He specializes in the construction industry and will give attendees a better understanding of how to plan for the future with more confidence.

Summit highlights will include:

Business Diversification. A panel of IDG members will discuss how they’ve expanded their businesses through diversification, including design/build remodeling, kitchen, and bath, commercial, and window treatments.
Digital Marketing. The increasing role of online presence and customer reviews for businesses will be examined, along with an overview of digital marketing services that are provided with IDG membership.

Staffing and Installation Solutions. Finding (and retaining) top sales associates, design team members, and installers continues to be one of the most challenging issues owners face in today’s work environment. Summit will share new solutions and resources available to members, including the appointment of an in-house installation consultant and a hiring and recruiting assistance program.

Built-In Networking. Network and engagement are increasingly vital to membership, so Summit’s agenda is filled with built-in time for networking.

In addition to one-on-one meetings, Connor Lokar, networking, and education sessions, the Summit features a closing event exclusively for members at Mandalay Bay.

The 20th annual Alan Greenberg Charity Golf Tournament benefiting the Floor Covering Industry Foundation took place yesterday the historic Barnsley Gardens in Georgia.  The event raised $130,000 for the Floor Covering Industry Foundation (FCIF.)

Funds from the tournament support the foundation’s ongoing efforts to assist those who are currently, or have been, affiliated with the floor covering industry and are experiencing unanticipated hardships due to illness, disability, or other life-altering circumstances.

The organization helps families dealing with issues ranging from organ transplants, cancer treatments and other types of financial assistance to those who really need it, at a time in their life when they really need it.

“Everyone was so happy to be back together in person for the tournament. We have an incredible community that really shows up for each other and turns out to give back,” said Charlie Dilks, Chief Product Officer at CCA Global Partners and Chairman of the FCIF Board. “We’re grateful for all who participated and donated to the cause. Our aim is always to raise much needed funds for the many who need help in our floor covering family, and this was a tremendous result.”

Attended by business owners, vendors, manufacturers, distributors, and supporters from all over the nation, the tournament is a day of fellowship, friendship, and the opportunity for friendly competition, aimed at a common goal of goodwill. Their contributions to the FCIF – via participation in the tournament as well as event sponsorships –will assist the foundation at a time when it’s needed the most.To learn more about the tournament or to apply for aid, please visit www.FCIF.org.
